The Ruhr-Sieg-Radweg forms a link between the Ruhr and Sieg rivers. A significant section of the route runs along former railroad lines, which makes for a pleasantly even ride in the middle of the low mountain range landscape. The starting point in Meschede leads the route via Eslohe to Finnentrop. This section includes sights such as the DampfLandLeute Museum in Eslohe and the striking bat tunnel near Fehrenbracht. From Finnentrop, the route extends via Attendorn to Olpe, parallel to the Biggesee, an extensive reservoir in Westfalen. The historic old towns of Attendorn and Olpe enrich the travel experience with their cultural substance. From Olpe, the route continues to Wenden, where the Wendener Hütte, one of the oldest and best-preserved charcoal blast furnaces in the German-speaking world, is an important testimony to industrial history. The cycle route passes the Hohenhain tunnel and leads to the historic town center of Freudenberg in Siegerland. From there, you reach Niederfischbach, whose Siegerland Cathedral is a special architectural feature. Finally, the tour ends in Kirchen an der Sieg, where the basalt formation of the Druidenstein in the district of Herkersdorf is a natural attraction of regional importance.
