Brilon - Möhne valley

South of the Haarstrang, the MöhnetalRadweg always follows the small river Möhne and thus connects the old Hanseatic city of Brilon, the source town, and the mouth of the Ruhr in Arnsberg-Neheim over 65 kilometers. The Möhnesee is a scenic highlight along the way.

Floodplain landscapes with lush meadows, green forests and gentle hills characterize the image of the Möhnetal and it is undergoing a transformation: parts of the floodplain are being renaturalized through the "Möhne Life" project. Flowery valley meadows and sparse floodplain forests are being restored for many animal and plant species of the low mountain valleys and will offer cyclists an even greater nature experience in the future.
