The industrially shaped village of Stemel is done an injustice if it is judged solely as a factually functional village. In Stemel we find inviting hiking trails off the road, which lead into the forests of the Hachener Mark, as well as from the other side of the valley to the Sorpesee. The village of Stemel is family-friendly and especially child-friendly. This can be seen in the beautifully designed children's playgrounds as well as the skating track. In the area "Lange Erlen" between Stemel and Hachen the rivers Röhr and Sorpe meet. After various floods in Hachen, a renaturation and swiveling of the river beds was carried out here in 2014. Today, one can observe how the two rivers flow leisurely in wider, shallower and longer sections through the beautifully landscaped Wiesengrund towards Hachen. The quiet landscape with diverse flora and fauna also invites you to take a relaxing walk.
