Sundern - Wildewiese

The small village Wildewiese, the southernmost and at the same time highest village of Sundern (650 NN), captivates at any time of the year. Circular hiking trails or the premium hiking trail "Sauerland-Höhenflug" invite you to hikes with breathtaking distant views during the summer months. If you want to go even higher and look even further, you can climb the Schomberg tower. Here the view seems to be limitless.

In winter, the snow transforms Wildewiese into an Eldorado for winter sports enthusiasts with five ski lifts for alpine pleasure and about 18 km of groomed cross-country ski trails. Once the ski season is over, it's the mountain bikers' turn. Every year the Förderverein Hagen-Wildewiese e.V. organizes the big events "Bikefestival - MegaSports" with 1,600 starters and the "Sauerland-Höhenflug-Trailrun". In Hagen, below Wildewiese, there is a small mining museum where lovingly collected objects show the importance of mining in former times for the region.
