The former Bad Waldliesborn railroad station, now known as Walibo's Gute Stube, has a remarkable history. The building was once an integral part of the Rheda-Wiedenbrück-Lippstadt railroad line, which connected the towns of Lippstadt and Rheda around 1887. After its inauguration in 1914, the station was closed in 1979, after which the building remained unused for a long period of time. In recent years, the building has been revitalized and now serves as a meeting place for the local population and visitors.
Elements of the original station concourse have been preserved in the rooms, giving an idea of the arrival of the former spa guests. Visitors can enjoy food and drink here and reflect on the historical development of the town. The interior design includes historical photographs and documents that illustrate the development of the brine springs and the local history.
In addition to its function as a gastronomic establishment, Walibo's Gute Stube is an important meeting place. During the summer months, the outdoor terrace offers an opportunity to take a break. The former station building allows visitors to immerse themselves in the specific atmosphere and history of Bad Waldliesborn, complemented by a range of coffee specialties and regional products.
