Schloss Bamenohl was first mentioned in documents in 1324. Around 1433, half of the co-ownership passed to the von Plettenberg family. The east wing was built in 1647 during the Thirty Years' War. Carl Gisbert Wilhelm von Plettenberg-Heeren shaped the castle's current appearance from 1851 to 1870.
After being used as a summer residence, refugee accommodation and retirement home, its use ended in 1967 due to structural damage. The listed ensemble is inhabited by the Barons of Plettenberg and is only open to the public by prior arrangement.
Rooms for exclusive events are available on the first floor. Four conference rooms (22-55 m², approx. 160 m² in total) offer space for up to 100 participants. The equipment includes variable furnishings, grand piano, music system, speaker headsets and a professional kitchen.
A 70 sqm apartment on the second floor of the main building has a fireplace room with a view of the park, bedroom, small kitchen and bathroom. Tenants can use the park and terrace by prior arrangement.
