The Südwestfalen Freilichtbühne Freudenberg offers a varied program ranging from local plays to comedies, dramas and children's plays. The stage, picturesquely situated in the forest, impresses with a width of 40 meters and a fully covered grandstand that seats around 800 spectators. The stage is technically equipped with two fully electronically controllable revolving stages and a high-quality sound system. Warming seat cushions are available for cooler temperatures.
Around 100 committed citizens from Freudenberg and the surrounding communities, aged between 5 and 80, contribute to the success of the performances on a voluntary basis. Preparations for the season begin in winter, while the performances take place from June to September. During this time, around 60 performances are given, with a three-week break in July.
In August 1997, the open-air theater was awarded the title of 'child-friendly' by the youth welfare offices of the Siegen-Wittgenstein district and the city of Siegen for its many years of cultural work with children.
