The "fire oak" an oak trunk about 11 meters high, shows by means of elaborate carvings the history of the development of man in interaction with the positive and negative use of wood and fire. It is encircled by a bronze band of fire that comes out of the ground and reaches high into the crown. There it ends in a flame visualized by metallic colored titanium sheets.
