The "Auf der Lenne" hiking parking lot is the ideal starting point for numerous hikes and walks:

Wittgensteiner Schieferpfad: From the hiking parking lot, you can access the premium hiking trail "Wittgensteiner Schieferpfad". This approximately 14-kilometre circular trail leads partly over alpine sections, you will encounter imposing rock formations, majestic veteran trees, idyllic bodies of water and historical traces of slate mining. An exciting adventure! The Schieferpfad was the first premium hiking trail in the region to be awarded the German Hiking Seal of Approval in 2005 and has been delighting visitors ever since. Along the way, you will pass the Hörre nature reserve, one of the 50 natural treasures of Südwestfalen. You can find more information here.

Around the Steinbachtal valley: The A 1 circular trail starts here with a magnificent view of Bad Berleburg and its castle, which is a landmark of the town. Over a length of 8.7 km, the trail first leads through the forest and then past the Lützelbach stream. After this section of the trail, the Upper Steinbach Valley opens up. Here you hike along the distinctive mat-grass meadows and species-rich mountain meadows of the nature reserve. Arnica and the broad-leaved orchid adorn the valley slopes here. The route then leads through the forest back to the starting point.

A 2 - Circular trail: 6 km long hiking trail to the Bismarck Column. As in many other places, Bad Berleburg followed the call of the student body in 1898 to erect Bismarck Columns. On the initiative of the Bad Berleburg gymnastics club, the idea was put into practice in 1911. The Bad Berleburg Bismarck Column is the smallest and the last of the 47 versions of the Bismarck Column design "Twilight of the Gods" by Wilhelm Kreis.

A 3- Circular trail: A 3 km hike around the Limburg with beautiful views (including from the "Augenstein") of Bad Berleburg and its castle.

Ederhöhenpfad feeder route: You can also join the Ederhöhenpfad feeder route from the hiking parking lot. This leads not only through unique landscapes, but also across national borders. Rustic paths and impressive cliffs, mystical forests and valleys close to the river - the route along the Eder is a delight with its carefully planned route. The trail runs over 26 km from Bad Berleburg to Beddelhausen. It is marked with a white "E" with a blue wiper on a yellow background.
