Cross-border hiking
Not far from the state border with Hessen is the "In der Dornhecke" hiking parking lot in the middle of the forest, from where you can go on a variety of hikes and walks. For example, you can hike 6 km along the H 7 circular trail to Hesselbach and around the Hasselberg back to the starting point. Other marked trails also lead uphill and downhill through forest and open land, which you can reach near the parking lot. Here is not only an entry point to the Wittgenstein Panorama TrailH 1 (5 km), which takes you into the Hesselbach and Boxbach valleys, or H 8 (9 km), which takes you around the Struthberg and the Hommerichskopf with its beautiful heathland. The 16 km long premium hiking trail "Boxbachpfad", which you can also join not far from the parking lot. It runs mostly in Hessen, overcomes numerous meters in altitude, but also rewards you with many wonderful views.
