Hiking experiences with a view of the water
The Obernautalsperre is a popular excursion destination for recreational sports enthusiasts and walkers. There is a 10 km paved circular trail around the largest drinking water reservoir in the Siegen-Wittgenstein district, which is also suitable for families. Several benches along the way invite you to take a break and offer some wonderful views of the dam. In addition, numerous information boards not only provide information about the drinking water supply, but also reveal all kinds of interesting facts about the animals and plants found here. About halfway along the trail, you can take a detour to the old castle, a former Celtic refuge, or to the nature park gem"WaldinformationszentrumHohenroth forester's lodge with its adjoining café and fallow deer enclosure.
Further tips:
The A 2 circular route takes you on a short loop around the Windhain. You can walk around the 496 m high Scharn via the A 3.
From the hiking parking lot, you can also access the varied Netph cycle ring possible.
Tips:
When you arrive, make sure that you only park in the designated parking areas.
Please stay on the paved circular path during your walk! Entering the shore area is prohibited.
