Recreation area "Berghagener Kopf"
The hiking parking lot "Linde" is the starting point for numerous hikes and walks on the Berghagener Kopf. From here you can reach the idyllic villages and farms of the Herscheid farming community to the north. From the hilltops a fantastic view opens up into the Lenne valley and onto the heights of the Ebbegebirge with the Robert-Kolb-Turm and the television towers of the West German Broadcasting Company on the Nordhelle.
On the adjacent meadow there is the bee nature trail of the beekeeper association Herscheid e.V.. Over a length of 200 meters, a flowering strip grows here with typical plants (food sources for bees). Information boards explain interesting facts about bees. A bee colony lives all year round in a so-called "Klotzbeute", where visitors can watch the busy work behind the glass pane. In summer, there are also colonies of bees in magazine hives along the trail.
