  • Insightful

The Rahrbach Cross is a station cross of the Holy Procession.

Until around 100 years ago, the procession with the Blessed Sacrament on Holy Trinity Day, the former high joyous feast of the Hilligendracht, went around the whole parish - via Kruberg, Arnoldihof and Fahlenscheid. One stop was at the Rahrbach cross. A simple oak cross without a body used to stand here. In 1960, it was replaced by a new cross with a corpus.

The themed hiking trail

"Rahrbacher PoesieWeg- with poetry to me and nature"

The approx. 8 km long circular hiking trail (on easily accessible forest paths with a few slight inclines) aims to provide inspiration for inner contemplation, inspiration and a deeper encounter with nature.

Enjoy the heavenly forest atmosphere of the rustling coniferous and deciduous forests on the circular tour and let yourself be inspired at six places by short poems to linger, reflect and enjoy nature.

Tour details can be found here.

Tip:
Use the booklet accompanying the Rahrbach Poetry Trail for an informative and enlightening stay in the forest. You can obtain the free booklet from the Tourist Information Lennestadt & Kirchhundem, Hundemstr. 18, 57368 Lennestadt, 02723 608800, info@lennestadt-kirchhundem.de or download it.

Note:
The Rahrbacher PoesieWeg leads through specially protected woodland areas in the areas of the resting places 3 and 4, where paths are prohibited. This means that in this section of the Rahrbach Poetry Trail, it is not permitted to enter the forest areas off the paths.

And, of course, entering the forest is always at your own risk. This also applies to hiking on the Rahrbach Poetry Trail.
