These predominantly historic, often very rare rose varieties thrive here in the harsh conditions of the Wittgenstein region. The focus is on single-flowering historic roses such as gallicas, centifolias, damasks and albas. There are also rare polyanthas, ramblers and wild roses. This blooming place comes to life thanks to a privately financed and organized project by two rose lovers. Donations of plants from rose lovers from all over Germany have made it possible to create a unique environment here.
In the summer months of June and July, there are free consultations every Saturday from 2.00 pm. Antje Laues-Oltersdorf and Renate Ludwig-Bernshausen explain the different rose varieties and give tips on planting and care. You can also purchase runners and young plants for your own garden. Guided tours are available by appointment throughout the flowering season.
