On the Rothaarsteig feeder road between Kirchhundem-Heinsberg and the 'Haberg' nature reserve, a structure which is almost unique in Germany remained dormant until the summer of 2003. With this structure, an 'aqueduct', a brook has been led since the beginning of the 20th century over the artificial terrain cut for a railroad line, which has been dismantled in the meantime.

Since the summer of 2003, visitors to the station, which was set up by the Rothaarsteig Association together with the Regional Forestry Office of the Kurkölnisches Sauerland, can learn about the eventful history from the beginning of construction to the present day in a book. At the same time, one has the opportunity to view and enjoy the building and the nature in its surroundings at length. As a true work of art, at the end of the aqueduct stands a scale model of the terrain, cast in copper, where everyone can experience for themselves how an 'aqueduct' works.
In the disused railroad tunnel between the Krenkel and Schwarzbachtal valleys is an important winter roost for bats.

The quality trail Krenkeltal & Golderner Zapfen leads directly past the aqueduct.
Starting point: Hiking parking lot Stauweiher, Kirchhundem-Heinsberg.

The small viewing platform and the Rothaarsteig book are currently closed. The second viewing platform with the model of the aqueduct is still accessible.
