The Collection of Urban Cleaning and Waste Disposal, SASE for short, has set itself the task of documenting and presenting to the public the importance of waste collection and urban cleaning in terms of hygiene, environmental and climate protection.

SASE also maintains the industry archive of the German waste disposal industry and the "German Waste Management Library" (DABib) with around 20,000 specialist books on environmental technology and the waste disposal industry.
Visitors can find out about technical developments in the areas of waste collection, street cleaning, sewer services and recycling in a permanent exhibition.

Over 40 historical vehicles, various functional models, installations and multimedia elements bring the eventful history of the waste disposal industry in Germany since 1900 to life over an area of 800 square meters. This makes the SASE exhibition the world's largest exhibition on the topic of "Urban Environmental Protection".

Guided tours for children
Younger visitors can immerse themselves in the medieval world of waste and refuse collection, explore refuse collection vehicles and various waste containers and playfully explore modern waste collection and separation. Or simply sit behind the wheel of a (historic) refuse truck.

Climate protection through the circular economy
The questions of the present are posed in the second part of the exhibition, which focuses on "Climate protection through the circular economy". Models of compost and waste treatment plants illustrate the great climate protection potential of the waste management industry. Various exhibits from the fields of industrial cleaning and waste recycling invite visitors to try out, touch and experience.
