Hiking on the Sengelsberg
The A 2 (6.5 km) starts at the hiking parking lot and leads through forests, meadows and along the edge of the town. First you head towards a nature park jewel and landmark of Bad Berleburg, the castle together with its park. The ancestral seat of the Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg royal family for around 750 years, the castle provides a wonderful backdrop for various cultural events and invites you to visit. The extensive park and orangery are particularly worth a visit. The hiking trail now continues towards Schützenplatz, which is the venue for the annual bird shooting. With a view of the city, the route now leads downhill and through the forest back to the starting point. From here, you can also start a leisurely walk around the Stöppel(A 1; 2.5 km) or a 19 km long round around Bad Berleburg.
