Today, the park is used for recreation and cultural events, especially at the music pavilion. The magnificent flower beds and exotic trees are well worth seeing. Two viewing points, former fortification towers, now called "Großer Krebs" and "Kleiner Krebs", offer a beautiful view towards Hüttental and Kaan-Marienborn. At the eastern end of the park, below the former youth hostel, there is a large playground. The castle park is part of the city tour.

The castle park, designed as a garden complex, extends over 16,000 square meters. It has been a civic park since 1888, after the city of Siegen acquired the castle and grounds from the Kingdom of Prussia.
