The original parish of St. Vincent was founded around the year 800, one of 13 original parishes in the Sauerland. From 1344, the Romanesque building was followed by a Gothic hall church with a mighty west tower and a three-aisled nave with choir. This was demolished in 1867 and replaced by a transept and a neo-Gothic choir.

The church, with its stained glass windows and the beauty of its cross-ribbed vault reaching towards the heavens, was intended to be a reflection of the Heavenly Jerusalem. Precious works of art adorn the interior of the church, including a late Gothic statue of the Virgin Mary, an altarpiece from the early Baroque period and a Rococo figure of St. Joseph.

Dedicated to the two saints St. Vincent of Saragossa and St. Walburga.

Centuries-old traditions, which have remained alive thanks to their contemporary design, characterize parish life. In addition to the procession of the cross, these include the Pentecost and Corpus Christi processions. Above all, church music with organ concerts, choirs and music groups unites parishioners of all ages.
