The Störmede manor looks back on an eventful history.
However, the original building from the 12th century, the castle of Werno von Störmede, was located on today's church square. The relocation of the castle grounds to the current site was carried out by a descendant of the nobleman. According to history, he founded his own church from his ancestor's castle chapel.
In the 14th century, a new church was built by the Lords of Hörde, who replaced the line of Störmede. Fires and decay changed its appearance over the course of time.
The building was divided into two permanent houses, the "Old House" and the "High House". A "Middle House" was added as a special structural feature. In the 17th century, it was Alhard von Hörde who removed much of the old building and brought about the construction of the current complex.
Until the second half of the 20th century, the manor served as an aristocratic residence. Today, the manor is a special address for conferences and private parties of all kinds.
In the "Sturmidi" restaurant, we combine the traditional, chivalrous virtues of a host with contemporary comfort.
