To the source of the Lister
The Lister is a tributary of the Listertalsperre dam that is around 19 km long. It has its source in the "Grundlose" raised bog, one of the numerous bogs in the Ebbe Mountains. The Ebbemoore is home to very rare plants such as bogbean, sundew and cranberry. These moors are so unique that the area has been designated a nature reserve of European importance. The entire protected area covers almost 1,000 hectares. The "Grundlose" moor is around 15 minutes' walk away on the left-hand side of the A 3 hiking trail and is easy to spot thanks to the bog birch vegetation.
The numerous marked hiking trails enable both short walks and longer day hikes up to Nordhelle, the highest elevation in the Ebbegebirge at 663 m above sea level.
