The Wasserschloß Wülmersen is part of the Reinhardswald Ecomuseum and also offers events in this context.
A long history
The oldest buildings on the estate date back to the 12th century. Agriculture with intensive animal husbandry was practiced here for over 800 years.
After 25 years of vacancy, the ruined buildings were lovingly rebuilt in 1986-2005 in a combination of youth employment measures, heritage conservation and local craftsmen.
The LandMuseum
The museum is located in a former stable building.
From May to October, changing exhibitions show agricultural technology, rural life, rural crafts and regional history.
The foam magazine houses around 1000 collector's items, including agricultural exhibits from the Krug folklore collection. The foam magazine can of course also be visited as part of a guided tour.
The museum kiosk provides refreshments afterwards.
