Golden views
A 3.5 km circular tour begins at the "Winterbach" hiking parking lot on the A 6, which leads to a real special feature after crossing the road - the golden oak. Instead of in autumn, the oak tree is already golden in spring. This natural phenomenon can only be observed for a few weeks. The path then continues uphill. With a view of Hof Rüsselsbach, which was once used as a filming location for a bestselling crime novel ("Tannöd"), you reach the "Bergland Wittgenstein" nature reserve. This is characterized by species-rich flora and fauna, including the juniper mountain heath. The route then runs parallel to the Großer Rüsselsbach stream back to the starting point. The marked A 4 circular trail around the Rilgeskopf and the A 8 (9 km), which leads through the Petersgrund, also start from here. The Red Kite High Trail can also be accessed not far from the parking lot.
