The " 5 a day" marathon route leads through the municipality of Welver, located between Hamm and Soest and the Sauerland and Münsterland regions.
The marathon route is the first permanently signposted " 5 a day" marathon route. It is a circular route that can be used at any time without restriction.
As a 20-village tour, the route connects the center of Welver and the 20 districts with each other. A possible starting point is at the sports center of the municipality of Welver with parking spaces and other infrastructure. The entire route is signposted and can also be cycled as a 30 km or 10 km stage. Additional signs point out the various places of interest. Enjoy this well-signposted and varied route.

A rescue point system has been installed throughout the region (Soest district, Hochsauerlandkreis, Märkischer Kreis, Olpe district and Siegen-Wittgenstein district). Rescue points can be found on the information boards at the junctions of the Südwestfalen cycle network.
