Around and through the municipality of Wickede

The tour starts right in the center of Wickede and takes us through the districts of Wiehagen, Schlückingen, Echthausen and Wimbern. We start at the town hall, which overlooks the market square. At the Ruhr bridge, follow Fröndenbergerstraße north past the sports field. The trail then runs through a natural and idyllic landscape conservation area along the Strullbach stream to the Wiehagen district. After a short stretch along a district road with its fruit trees, you reach Wickede's smallest district, Schlückingen, with its chapel, which has been lovingly restored by the locals. Continue cycling eastwards through the Schlückingen fields along the edge of Werl's city forest to the next stopover, the venerable Füchten manor house, which is well worth seeing. From here, you can follow the RuhrtalRadweg signposts again and head towards Wickede to the district of Echthausen, the largest district in the municipality of Wickede (Ruhr). Here, it is particularly worth taking a look at the former manor house, which is now a lovingly restored monument in private ownership. To get to know the entire municipality of Wickede (Ruhr) with its 4 districts, however, your tour is not yet complete, as there is still Wimbern to discover. In the immediate vicinity of the tour, you will see the historic "Zur Poststation" restaurant, which dates back to the founding of the Thurn-und-Taxis post office in 1816. Back at the Ruhr bridge, you cycle the familiar route back to the starting point and have thus cycled the entire 29.7 km stage through the municipality of Wickede (Ruhr). Here in Wickede there is plenty of opportunity for a small snack, a refreshing ice cream or a little shopping spree in the almost exclusively owner-managed stores.
