Olsberg
This tour starts at the tourist information in Olsberg. Initially, the bike route leads in the direction of Eisenberg, where you can also visit the Phillipsstollen. The Sauerland was an important mining area in the 18th century. Visitors to the Phillipsstollen can experience first-hand how arduous it was for the miners to mine iron ore underground.
Continuing through the Olsberg mountains, you pass the Hiebammen Hütte. Here, both hikers from the Rothaarsteig and cyclists stop for a hearty rest.
Now you descend to Brilon, where the Altstadt with the historic town hall invites you to linger. On the market square you can fortify yourself for the onward journey thanks to the various gastronomic offers.
The next kilometers lead you along the cycle path to Altenbüren and from there via Antfeld back to Olsberg. The last part of the tour leads uphill along the RuhrtalRadweg back to the starting point of the tour.
Olsberg - Brilon - Altenbüren - AntfeldSince 2015, the entire Sauerland region has been signposted with the junction system:www.radeln-nach-zahlen.de/de/Das-Konzept-Radeln-nach-Zahlen/Knotenpunktkarte
A rescue point system is installed throughout the region (Soest district, Hochsauerlandkreis district, Märkischer Kreis district, Olpe district and Siegen-Wittgenstein district). Rescue points can be found, among other things, on the information boards at the junctions of the Südwestfalen cycling network.
The route can be reached via the following stations: Olsberg, Brilon
