After starting at the Apollmicke hiking parking lot, the route is initially enjoyable and mostly flat as far as Würdinghausen. After Oberhundem, there is a longer ascent through several hairpin bends up to the Rhein-Weser-Turm. After a quick descent, the route climbs again behind Aue-Wingeshausen to Jagdhaus. Later you reach Schmallenberg - from here the route leads for many kilometers over the well-signposted Sauerland Radring. Once back in the Lenne valley, the final stretch takes you through the Veischede valley back to the starting point near Apollmicke.
