From the start in Rüthen to Büren, the route is initially downhill. Then it's time to pedal hard to Bad Wünnenberg, because the route goes steadily uphill.
The scenic Aabachtalsperre is circumnavigated and immediately followed by a crisp climb to Bleiwäsche. On the next section of the tour to Alme, where the source of the river of the same name is located, it is downhill again. One last climb and the round ends in Rüthen.
