After the start in Schmallenberg and a steep climb from Grafschaft to Winkhausen, the first highlight of the tour follows: the long climb through one of the most beautiful valleys in the Sauerland: the Sorpetal up to the Großer Bildchen. Via Altastenberg we reach the Kahler Asten, the highest mountain in NRW that can be ridden on a road bike. Via Neuastenberg and a fast descent into the Odeborn valley, it's time to glide along to Dödesberg. This is urgently needed, as there are approx. 6 km of steady incline up to Albrechtplatz. This is followed by one of the greatest descents for miles around. A stop at the parking lot just after the top of the pass is perfect for a break because of the fantastic view. On the further descent, a few hairpin bends almost give you that Alpine feeling. From Oberkirchen, we follow the route of the annual "Rund um den Wilzenberg" road bike race to Grafschaft, the start and finish of the race. As far as Fleckenberg, the Latroptal valley is ideal for a little relaxation before a steep climb takes us to Werpe. The next few kilometers through Haverland and parts of the SauerlandRadring await us until Dorlar, where the terrain is very undulating. From Dorlar, the route becomes increasingly steeper into the Henne valley. Once you reach the Rimberg, there are a few beautiful serpentines down to Bad Fredeburg. From here it's all downhill along the old railroad line of the SauerlandRadring back to the starting point at the Tourist Information Center in Schmallenberg.
