The tour through the villages of Burbach starts at the Burbach town hall in Eicher Weg. After you have made your bike ready, you cycle through the harmoniously designed Burbach village center in the direction of Würgendorf. From the mighty "Römer" towers the Ev. Kirche Burbach, which is worth visiting. Through Nassauische Straße and with a short detour through Jägerstraße you turn left into Gassenweg. On the right hand side you will see the "Alte Vogtei", where changing exhibitions of regional and national artists can be admired. The "Alte Vogtei" is about 500 years old and one of the most impressive half-timbered buildings in the Siegerland.

Now you continue to Würgendorf. Gently ascending you follow the route through the Hellerauen. The gentle murmur of the Heller accompanies you along the way. In Würgendorf, it is worth taking a detour to the center of the village to see the fortified church and the Heimhof Theater Burbach. You leave Würgendorf behind and cycle through a lush green Buchenwald to Holzhausen. The half-timbered ensemble around the "Alte Schule" (old school) with its natural history room, local history museum and the church are worth stopping for. The route continues through Holzhausen in the direction of Niederdresselndorf. Here, too, it is the likewise historic village center that is to be marveled at. The church of Niederdresselndorf also invites you to take a break. Via the signposted cycle path you reach Oberdresselndorf. You leave the village and reach the open landscape of the Hickengrund. Here the special natural space captivates the landscape. Not for nothing are 31 nature reserves and a European bird sanctuary designated in Burbach. Hazel grouse and black stork are just a few rare animal species to marvel at. Before a magnificent view of Liebenscheid opens up, you will leave North Rhine-Westphalia. Via an ascent, you will enter Rhineland-Palatinate. Once you reach the heights, you will meet the Rothaarsteig, a magnificent view. On the left, you have noticed the approach lights of the Siegerland Airport. Through Liebenscheid, past the small church, you will pass the barbecue hut in the direction of the Lippe. On the right you can see the Siegerland Airport. Here, sightseeing flights and parachute jumps are possible. Back on the bike tour, you cross the B54 and turn off to Lippe, the southernmost village in Westfalen. Passing the village community center, you go on a rapid descent through the Buchheller valley. This special spot still shows relics of the Siegerland mining tradition. Before that, on a clear day, you can enjoy some great views. After you have left the Buchheller valley, you will come back to the starting point at the town hall along lush green meadows and the Buchheller river flowing to the left in the valley.

Directions

You continue cycling through the Gassenweg until you reach the traffic circle in Jägerstraße. Leave the traffic circle at the fourth exit and turn right shortly after the railroad crossing onto the signposted cycle path towards Würgendorf. You will pass the Burbach sports field and cross Carl-Benz-Straße. Please follow the red and white cycle path signs. Gently uphill you now follow the route through the Hellerauen to Würgendorf. The quiet rippling of the Heller accompanies you on the way. Once you arrive in Würgendorf, the signposts of the cycling network show you the way to Holzhausen through Gartenstraße and Werkstraße to Sangstraße. Here it is worth taking a short detour to the Heimhof Theater. Continue along Sangstraße to the L 531. Use the road as a cycle path for a short distance and turn into a paved forest path shortly after the underpass of the B54. Now follow the path on the left through the wonderfully fresh Buchenwald. At the next junction keep right slightly uphill. Then, at the next fork, follow the trail downhill to Holzhausen. In front of you is the Wycliff center. You go around this on the left and then meet the railroad line of the Hellertalbahn. Follow the railroad line until the underpass, then turn left and cycle downhill through the "Siegenweg" into the historic center of Holzhausen. Here you leave the route of the NRW cycling network. In front of you is the "Alte Schule" of Holzhausen and the hotel "Fiester Hannes". Here it is worthwhile to stop and have a rest. You cycle through the Hoorwaldstraße until shortly before the industrial area of Holzhausen. Here you turn left into the "Neue Siedlung". Shortly thereafter, after about 250 m, turn right and cycle below the sports field along a tarred cycle path through green meadows to Niederdresselndorf. You are now back on the signposted cycle path of the NRW cycle network. Follow the signs through the historic village center through Niederdresselndorf in the direction of Oberdresselndorf and Liebenscheid. You will cross under the viaduct of the Hellertalbahn and pass the cemetery of Oberdresselndorf. There you meet the Westerwaldstraße. When you leave Oberdresselndorf, follow the cycle path on the left into the impressive nature of the southern Siegerland. At the Buchenborn hikers' parking lot, it is a good idea to take refreshment before tackling the climb to the left in the direction of Liebenscheid. You cross the Wetterbach and now follow the tarred road uphill. On the left there is a farm. When you reach the top, the approach lights of the Siegerland Airport flash up on your right. A magnificent view of the landscape compensates for the effort of the ascent. A short time later you meet the Rothaarsteig, which you cross and continue cycling along the tarred path in the direction of Liebenscheid. In the attractive village center you turn left and cycle past the small church. You will meet the main road, which you cross to turn diagonally left onto the tarred path to the Liebenscheid barbecue hut.Follow the path further, past the first turnoff, through a cool stand of spruce trees. A view of the Siegerland Airport opens up in front of you. It is worth taking a detour here to watch planes landing or taking off, to see parachutists, or perhaps to take a sightseeing flight yourself.Otherwise, the path leads again along the bicycle traffic signs. At the traffic circle you cross the B54, to Burbach-Lippe. Lippe is the southernmost town in Westfalen. Continue downhill through the town following the cycle path signs past the cemetery. Before that, a breathtaking view opens up into the forest wealth of the Siegerland. Now it goes downhill into the Buchheller valley. At the small fish pond, keep left to experience the ruins of the Peterszeche. The Buchheller valley shows the past of the Siegerland. In the past, various ores were mined here, as in many areas of the more than 2000 year old mining region. Passing the small forest chapel, you continue downhill following the tarred road. You cross the Buchheller and on the left is the Nenkersberg forest estate. Via the "Buchhellerstraße" you come back to the "Eicher Weg", the starting point of the tour.
