From the start in Brilon, this circular tour takes you right into the heart of the Diemelsee Nature Park.

You leave Brilon on the R14 and after crossing the B251 turn left towards Messinghausen where you meet the Diemelradweg.

Shortly after Helminghausen you will reach the dam wall and for the first time you can let your eyes wander over the winding Diemelsee. Further on, the route leads you along the water's edge back to the dam wall. On the way there are nice places to rest or, in warm summer weather, to take a dip in the cool waters of Lake Diemelsee, e.g. at the Helminghausen lido.

After the relaxed circumnavigation of the Diemelsee, you will reach the dam wall again, from where you will return to your starting point in Brilon by the same route.
