Are you curious? Do you love discoveries, do you enjoy conquering new terrain as a pedal knight, letting gables and alleyways tell you stories and listening to stone witnesses from times long past? Then the Historic Town Centers cycle route is just right for you: the approximately 390-kilometre tour through Münsterland and Südwestfalen opens up different perspectives.
Sometimes gabled buildings bear witness to the medieval heyday of a town located on important trade routes. Sometimes art and cultural treasures give an idea of the former wealth of a region. Sometimes a colliery railway line points to the early industrial character of the region.
The historic town centers of Warendorf, Rheda-Wiedenbrück, Rietberg, Lippstadt, Soest, Werl, Werne, Steinfurt and Tecklenburg are strung together like pearls on a necklace - "strung" on a green ribbon whose natural radiance gives the cycle route its special charm, even away from the historical facets.
