- Round trip
Seilerseebad
Seilerseebad
From Seilerseebad, the tour leads to the north of Iserlohn, initially along Seilersee and past the mini golf course in the direction of Barendorf. Follow the signposts (red lettering on a white sign) with the long-distance destination "Schwerte". Drive along the B233 (Seilerseestraße) until you reach "Düingser Mühle", where you turn right. After only about 200 m, the road forks - here, contrary to the signposts, turn right again - a little way uphill - into "Bad Marienbrunner Weg". The beautiful view of the Iserlohn Heid behind you makes up for the slight effort. You will see the district of "Griesenbrauck" on the right. Now follow the "Bad Marienbrunner Weg" through an open, quite natural landscape, even if you have to push your bike for a few minutes after passing the former spa hotel "Bad Marienbrunnen" on the right (halfway up the hill there is a bench with a wonderful panoramic view). Turn left at the top of "Schützenstraße" and after 200 m turn right again into "Bixterhauser Hellweg". After a leisurely 1.4 km descent, you will reach a crossroads with a wayside cross. Turn sharp right here into the road "Überm Gaxberg". At the traffic lights, cross "Landhauser Straße" straight ahead and follow the road. Initially, the road climbs a total of 40 m over a distance of 700 m, but you can enjoy the great view as far as Fröndenberg as well as the subsequent 2.2 km descent to Platte Heid. The "Im Stucken" inn on the left invites you to take your first break after just under an hour's ride. Then turn left into "Heckenrosenweg", which merges into the road "Im Hülschenbrauck" behind the buildings. After about 2 km from "Stucken", turn right and follow the road "Im Wichenbrauck" to the country road ("Bräukerweg"). Be careful when crossing the "Bräukerweg", people drive fast here! Continue straight on to the restaurant "Zur Kastanie" (a second break with refreshments would be possible, outdoor catering available). At the next road, turn right into "Koksbeyweg", at the end of which you will find "Gut Scheda". This section of the tour north of Sümmern runs exclusively along agricultural, asphalted paths and is easy to cycle without any significant gradients. Now turn right onto "Schedaer Weg" and at the end turn left onto "Berglose". At the next junction, turn left into "Rittershausstraße" (those interested can also continue straight ahead for a few minutes at the "Sümmerheide" glider airfield). Stay on "Rittershausstraße" for about 600 m and then turn right into "Trecklenkamp". After a short drive, you will reach "Bauernhof Drepper", which sells its own produce in its store. It's worth taking a look inside. Continue along the scenic "Trecklenkamp" through a small wooded area until you reach "Mühlenstraße". You are now on the Baartal cycle path, which ideally connects the Seilersee and Ruhrtal. Turn left here and then left again shortly before the traffic lights in Kalthof onto the footpath and cycle path. Cycle south along the Baarbach stream and after just under 3 km you will reach the "Historische Fabrikanlage Maste-Barendorf", where you can take another short break in the café. From here, follow the signs to "Seilersee".
