Möhnesee
There is a lot to discover on the tour: besides attractive places, the Möhnetal presents itself from its most beautiful side. Floodplain landscapes with lush meadows, green forests and rolling hills characterize the picture during the tour.
And the Möhne Valley is undergoing a transformation: parts of the floodplain have been renaturalized through the "Möhne Life" project. Flowery valley meadows and sparse floodplain forests are being restored for many animal and plant species of the low mountain valleys and offer the cyclist an even greater experience of nature.
On the second half of the tour the path leads along the edge of the Möhnesee and finally ends at the imposing and over 100 years old dam, which is still the heaviest monument in North Rhine-Westphalia. From there you have a great view over the Möhnesee dam.
Large parts of the MöhnetalRadweg run absolutely grade-free on a former railroad line.
On the way there are many opportunities to discover the Möhnesee and the attractive surroundings with children.

A rescue point system is installed throughout the region (Soest district, Hochsauerlandkreis district, Märkischer Kreis district, Olpe district and Siegen-Wittgenstein district). Rescue points can be found, among other things, on the information boards at the junctions of the Südwestfalen cycling network.
You can reach the starting point of the tour by public transport via the train station in Lippstadt and a bus connection to Warstein-Belecke.
