On this tour, you follow the Rothaargebirge mountains northwards. In Grafschaft, it is worth taking a detour to Schmallenberg with its typical half-timbered townscape. From here, you cross the main ridge of the Rothaargebirge and repeatedly come across works of art along the way. Pass the castle in Bad Berleburg and follow the Eder to Erndtebrück before returning to Hilchenbach via the ridge.

Thanks to its exposed location on the main ridge of the Rothaargebirge, Hilchenbach is the ideal starting point for mountain bike tours into Siegerland, Sauerland or Wittgensteiner Land. Both touring bikers and marathon riders will find great routes, as the region offers the perfect infrastructure for beginners and ambitious riders. Whether on your own, with GPS navigation (available to borrow from the Hilchenbach Tourist Information Office) or with a local guide - everyone can discover the most beautiful corners of the region on their bike.
The advantage is that all routes start from the same starting point, the market square, Hilchenbach's parlor. After your arrival, you can leave your car at and enjoy your stay on your bike.
