The StoppOmat near Rönkhausen is the attraction for everyone who wants to show who is the best road cyclist on the mountain. From mid-March to mid-October, road cyclists can test their form here and compete virtually or directly against each other for the fastest time. The 4.5 kilometers with 250 meters of altitude will show who has the most endurance. The course leads from the lower basin of the Pumpspeicherwerk in Finnentrop-Rönkhausen to the upper basin. The StoppOmat principle is very simple: you take a stamp card, complete the route and put the card back into the machine at the finish. In this way, time is taken - and the result is then published on the Internet. This principle enables a comparison throughout the season.

Safty guidelines

A rescue point system is installed throughout the region (Soest district, Hochsauerlandkreis district, Märkischer Kreis district, Olpe district and Siegen-Wittgenstein district). Rescue points can be found, among other things, on the information boards at the junctions of the Südwestfalen cycling network.

The route can be reached via the railroad station in Finnentrop.

Getting there

From the B 236 in Rönkhausen, turn off at the traffic circle in the direction of Pumpspeicherwerk Rönkhausen. Through Rönkhausen and Glinge uphill to the lower basin of the Pumpspeicherwerk. From Sundern via Endorf up the Röhrtal (K24). Through Brenschede and Faulebutter. At the junction turn in the direction of Rönkhausen/Glinge and downhill to the lower basin to the start of the Stoppomat. From Eslohe via Nieder- and Obersalwey. Turn onto the K29 in the direction of Weuspert/Faulebutter. From Faulebutter continue as described above.
