Winterberg
Winterberg
Long roller passages and climbing sections alternate on this particularly scenic road bike tour. Right at the start, the route descends rapidly downhill to Elkeringhausen. The "poisonous" climb to Küstelberg demands a lot from cyclists. Riders with a triple chainring definitely have an advantage.
Once this is done, guests cycle to Diemelsee in a relatively relaxed manner. Nestled in the Sauerland mountains, the mountain lake shimmers in the sun. The racing cyclists roll along at a leisurely pace and enjoy the fantastic lake panorama.
At Bontkirchen, it's time to climb again, as the large Buttenberg is a challenge with an elevation gain of around 180 meters. The reward for the exertions is not long in coming: the monumental Bruchhauser Steine or the half-timbered village of Bruchhausen itself are ideal for a tour stop. Road cyclists also have water in view on the way back. The route first leads through the lovely Neger river valley and then from Siedlinghausen along the Namenlose stream.
