The imposing abbey church in Meschede was consecrated in 1964 according to plans by Cologne architect Hans Schilling. The impressive exterior of the church is matched by the interior, which has been consistently developed theologically and liturgically as a result of the Second Vatican Council. The"House of Silence", inaugurated in 2001, is also architecturally impressive.
