The managed observation tower (refreshments and overnight accommodation) is located at 684 m above sea level directly on the Rothaarsteig and offers a fantastic panoramic view.
It is also an ideal starting point for numerous hikes such as Grenzgeschichten hautnah - Vom Rhein-Weser-Turm ins Schwarzbachtal.
The cross-country skiing center with cross-country skiing school and ski rental is also located at the Rhein-Weser-Turm and is the starting point of an extensive, well-maintained network of cross-country ski trails (Rothaarloipe).
Children's stories from Rheini
Christa Gattwinkel, the 2019/2020 tower keeper of the Rhein-Weser-Turm, has written four children's stories about Rheini the Rhein-Weser-Turm. The aim is to bring the landmark of the municipality of Kirchhundem more into the focus and interest of children.
