The Siegquelle is the source of the 155.2 km long River Siegen, which gave the Siegerland region its name, located in the Rothaargebirge mountains. The spring has been beautifully restored in recent years and you can explore the surrounding area on natural footbridges. The Siegtal cycle path also starts here and the Rothaarsteig also runs alongside it.
Tip: The sources of the Eder and Lahn rivers are also located not far from the source of the Sieg, and you can stop for refreshments at the nearby Lahnhof. There is a parking lot for hikers.
In good weather, the area is a popular starting point for hiking, cycling and motorcycle tours.
