Remains of the old town wall can still be seen in Obermarsberg today, including the water tower and the Buttenturm. In total, there were seven watchtowers along the town wall. Other watchtowers outside the town, from which the surrounding area could be easily overlooked, were the Donnersberger Warte (also called the Mäuseturm) and the Priesterberger Warte on the mountain of the same name.

The water tower got its name from its second function as a well, through which the Oberstadt was supplied with water from the valley. In total, there were eleven important wells and springs in Eresburg, which guaranteed the supply of drinking water.
A display board provides information about the history and use of the tower in the past.
Unfortunately, for insurance reasons, it cannot be climbed. From there you have a beautiful view of the surrounding countryside.
