Trout have been reared and processed at Forellenzucht Wehetal since 1964. The trout are raised from hatched eggs in our hatchery. They are reared in natural earthen ponds with the best spring water until the trout leave our fish farm as fingerlings, ready-to-catch or ready-to-cook fish for private individuals, fishing clubs or other commercial suppliers. In our own smokehouse, the fish are smoked according to an old recipe in beech chips to make the fish juicier and more flavorful and to market them as smoked fish or fillets in the region (Text: Forellenzucht Wehetal).
