Wide, open fields, rows of trees along the paths and small agricultural villages characterize the cycle network around Bad Sassendorf. Almost Sauerland to the south, bordering Münsterland to the north - the cycle route connects all 12 villages in the municipality: discover their special features!
Tip: A flyer about the route, including a stamp card, is available at the Bad Sassendorf guest information office. You can collect one stamp in each of the 12 districts. When you present the complete stamp card at the Westfalen Salzwelten, you can look forward to a little surprise!
First, the route heads south through the districts of Opmünden, Elfsen and Beusingsen to Herringsen. The section of the route along the Haarstrang is a little strenuous. However, you will be rewarded time and again with fantastic views over the Soest Börde and its picturesque landscape. The route then continues via Neuengeseke and Enkesen im Klei to Lohne. Half of the route is done! The route in the north is rather leisurely. The first stop is Bettinghausen. There you can take a break at the Landgasthof Vogt (Thursday is a rest day). The tour then takes you via Ostinghausen - take a little time in the Woeste nature reserve, where you can observe special and rare animals with binoculars - Weslarn - a tour of the village is worthwhile here to get to know the most important sights of the village - and Heppen back to Bad Sassendorf. Have fun!
A rescue point system has been installed throughout the region (Soest district, Hochsauerlandkreis, Märkischer Kreis, Olpe district and Siegen-Wittgenstein district). Rescue points can be found on the information boards at the junctions of the Südwestfalen cycle network.
You can travel to Bad Sassendorf by train (RB 89) or from Soest by bus R81.
