Unna
Salzkotten
The route takes you along beautiful, often car-free paths from Dortmund to the Weser, along largely straight, direct routes and with well-kept restaurants along the way. There are a number of interesting stops in the district of Soest - above all the historic town centers of Unna, Werl, Soest, Bad Sassendorf, Erwitte, Geseke and Salzkotten.
Due to the flat landscape and the many small and larger towns along the route, the Hellweg cycle route in the district of Soest is very family-friendly. When planning the route, it is also possible to create beautiful shorter stages, which always offer wonderful views for cyclists - the high church spires ahead announce the next destination.
