If you want to explore the heart of the Sauerland, choose this moderately difficult circular tour. This is because some of the region's flagship attractions lie along the way. In the "slipstream" of what is probably the most famous mountain in the Sauerland, the Kahler Asten, guests cycle all the way to Westfeld. Winter sports enthusiasts know the Schmallenberg Bundesgolddorf as a cross-country skiing center.
The Lenne rises in the middle of the Rothaargebirge mountains, flows from there through large parts of the Sauerland and shapes an entire region. Cyclists follow the course of the stream on the Lenne cycle path, along green banks. At the top at Lenneplätze, you can enjoy a wonderful panoramic view over the valleys - typical Sauerland!
Continue along the "path of the senses", the Rothaarsteig, to the enchanting cave village of Hoheleye in Winterberg. A game of open-air chess breaks up the tour. The return route leads via Neuastenberg: a visit to the West German Winter Sports Museum completes the "Sauerland Tour".
