Marsberg
Marsberg
The tour starts at the train station in Marsberg. The town has a lot to offer. The historic Obermarsberg - the old town on the hill -, an old town wall, many monuments and the Besucherbergwerk Kilianstollen.
We follow the Diemelradweg and pass Padberg. Shortly after Helminghausen, we reach the dam wall and can let our gaze wander over the winding Diemelsee for the first time. The route continues along the eastern side of the Diemelsee to Heringhausen, where there are lovely places to stop for a rest. In warm summer weather, a dip in the cool waters of the Diemelsee is also tempting.
We leave the Diemelradweg and cycle back to Marsberg via places with the beautiful names of Rhenegge, Adorf, Borntosten and Leitmar.
