Medebach (Winterberg)
This tour leads through beautiful landscapes. The Medebach Bay is often referred to as the "Tuscany of the Sauerland" because it is usually milder there compared to the rest of the Sauerland and it rarely rains. The unique natural diversity in the "Medebach Bay European bird sanctuary" with its many rare and endangered bird species and extraordinary flora is an experience for every nature lover.
The route takes cyclists through the artists' village of Oberschledorn, past Referinghausen with its dairy stations, Titmaringhausen, Küstelberg with the historic "Haus Ewers" farm and the source of the Ruhr, before finally reaching Winterberg. To complete the loop, the route heads back to the Hanseatic town of Medebach towards the village of Medelon. Pleasantly downhill, the tour leads over the "Vildische Grund" along the idyllic little river Orke, to Medelon and finally back to the starting point in Medebach after a total of 40 kilometers.
