Cycling under the sign of the bat: a cycling experience with the family too! Away from the road, but still on perfectly paved paths: That's what the SauerlandRadring offers.
Schmallenberg
Lennestadt Saalhausen
Schmallenberg, Eslohe, Finnentrop and Lennestadt are the four main towns on the SauerlandRadring.
On the route, follow the logo with the bat. From the start in Schmallenberg, the route heads slightly uphill towards Bad Fredeburg. Via the villages of Mailar, Dorlar and Bremke, the route rolls leisurely to Eslohe. From there, the route continues along the former railroad line through the Fledermaustunnel to Finnentrop. Cycle along the Lenne through the beautiful river valley to Saalhausen.
Some of the evidence of the railroad's past can still be seen along the route: in addition to old signal systems, buffer stops and wagons, you can also marvel at old steam locomotives. And as a special highlight, the famous Kückelheim "Fledermaustunnel" awaits cyclists.
Along the route, there are exciting views as well as plenty of playgrounds and leisure activities for the whole family. For example, the LandDampfLeute Museum in Eslohe. In the machine museum, you can marvel, touch, participate and experience.
