Schmallenberg
From the start in Schmallenberg, follow the logo with the bat on the well-signposted SauerlandRadring. First, the route goes slightly uphill in the direction of Bad Fredeburg. Via the villages of Mailar, Dorlar, Bremke and Sallinghausen you then roll comfortably to Eslohe. From there you continue on the former railroad line until you reach the famous Kückelheim "Fledermaustunnel" as a special highlight.
On the way back, you cycle back to Kückelheim and ride through the beautiful Haverland until you reach the starting point of the tour in Schmallenberg. On asphalt roads and yet far away from the busy streets you can enjoy the views in the land of a thousand mountains.
Along the route, in addition to exciting views, you will also find attractive recreational opportunities. For example the LandDampLeute-Museum in Eslohe. In the machine museum you can marvel, touch, participate and experience.
Schmallenberg - Bad-Fredeburg - Bremke - Eslohe - Fledermaustunnel - Kückelheim - Arpe - Werpe - SchmallenbergSince 2015, the entire Sauerland region has been signposted with the junction system: www.radeln-nach-zahlen.de/de/Das-Konzept
A rescue point system is installed throughout the region (Soest district, Hochsauerlandkreis district, Märkischer Kreis district, Olpe district and Siegen-Wittgenstein district). Rescue points can be found, among other things, on the information boards at the junctions of the Südwestfalen cycling network.
There are no train stations along the route. A limited journey is possible via bus transport. The nearest train station to the starting point is in Meschede.
