On the 14-kilometre route through the Sorpetal valley to Altastenberg, there are almost 400 meters of ascent to overcome. The narrow road climbs almost imperceptibly at first, passing through small, romantic villages. From Rehsiepen onwards, the road becomes steeper and more winding.
At the small wayside shrine near the hiking parking lot, turn right towards Altastenberg. After the left-hand bend, the landscape opens up and there are great views. A few more meters in altitude through Altastenberg and the highest point is reached. From here, it's not far to the highest point in North Rhine-Westphalia that can be ridden on a road bike - the Kahler Asten. If you still have energy left, you can extend the climb again.
Winkhausen - Niedersorpe - Rellmecke - Mittelsorpe - Obersorpe - Rehsiepen - Großes Bildchen - Altastenberg
